{I'm pretty sure I see out of Ilsze's eyes. Seems sort of weird not to

{What about your tulpa?
8:25 AM
Another question! How did you guys come up with your system names?

[Host eyes.] And we don't have one... yet (edited)

@Blitzeen Imeditate a bit but I'm not t good at it

Monika/ when I am actually active, then it depends on my intent. If I want to experience via the real senses then I can do that, if I want to experience via imaginary senses then I do that. Rafe/ when I am switched out, I experience the same sort of thing
Avatar
I personally don't understand the use of a system name. (edited)
Avatar
It's essentially like a family name
2:26 PM
A surname
2:27 PM
A name that applies to everyone in your system
Avatar
For us, it's just so that it's easier for others to identify that we belong to the same system
Avatar
We just decided on one. Since I'm not always the one talking and they don't want to have to change names any time they want to talk we went with this. The end part with the first two letters of each of our names are not set in stone though. Just something we are trying out
Avatar
When my host was 12 or so, she had these two characters who were incredibly important to her. She gave them the last name "Felight" as it's a combination of the words Feline and Light. In the lore of that story, the "royal" family had the word Light in their last name to indicate it, so the Feline family became the Felight family. The story had to do with orbs of light becoming people and stuff like that, so that's why the word was important. Those two characters became sentient over the years, and were my host's first tulpas. They no longer exist anymore. We adopted Felight as a system name as sort of an homage to them, and because we liked it and it sounded good.
Avatar
Litterally Colleen made up a word in a conlang from our childhood and it stuck
Avatar
That's really cool and sweet and special. Mine is just I've always liked the idea of the Grimm Reaper. Furthered along after discovering the bleach anime. Next to yours mine now seems poorly thought out and needy. Haha
Avatar
As long as everyone likes it
2:50 PM
we spent a lot of time searching for some sort of word that could apply to all of us space guys and dragons, but eventually were like "oh wait why not Felight" lol
Avatar
Tr- he has an image to keep up apparently. 🙄
Avatar
An image?
Avatar
Tr- gotta be cool, be hip, be whatever. Whatever he thinks will work.
Avatar
Heh, you should all probably try to find something that works for the entire system
Avatar
Tr- I'm fine with it. The only one who wanted anything different was Sweetie, and even then Shinigami is basically that but much more wordy I guess. We spend a lot of time play fighting with various weapons and things. It's not that it doesn't fit. It's that it feels forced. Certainly that last bit on there. Speaking of...
2:59 PM
Better. Not perfect but better. Why he worries that Shinigami is too wordy/long and then adds all those extraneous letters on the end, I've no idea.
3:05 PM
Guess we are going with my old handle now. Haha. Whatever. Don't want to stick us with anything that not everyone agrees with.

okay, very morbid question here sorry to spoil the mood: how long does it take for a tulpa to die if forgotten about? Can tulpas even die?
4:08 PM
is it possible to kill them in the wonderland?
4:11 PM
omg this sounds like I'm plotting a murder
4:11 PM
im only looking for information pls don't think I'm trying to kill off ollie o^o
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/14/2018 4:12 PM
1. Depends on the tulpa, specifically how old they are 2. Lots of people disagree, but I think so (it would be very difficult once they have been around for awhile though) 3. You can destroy their form, but that would not kill them
4:12 PM
And I get just being curious about that stuff
Avatar
*・゜゚・* 𝖵𝗂 *・゜゚・* 8/14/2018 4:13 PM
thank u for the clarification
4:14 PM
so basically the more you build them up the more solid staying power they have?
4:14 PM
that's so cool
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/14/2018 4:15 PM
Yeah, it's like a habbit, it can be easy to kick a habbit when you have just started, but after awhile it is so automatic that it can be difficult to stop
Avatar
It's like if you learn to play an instrument. The more time and practice you put into the skill, the longer it would take for it to go away. If you don't put much effort in, you'll lose it more easily
Avatar
Mine and myself "parted ways" for about 2 years. And they came back. After a certain amount of time or perhaps it varies from tulpa to tulpa I think it's impossible to ever truly get rid of them. They will always be there in the backround. It's hard to forget something that ingrained in a system.

my tulpa is a wahmen
Avatar
@Aren Meditating should be good for clearing your mind of intrusive thoughts. It should help you focus more when forcing.
Avatar
I do try and the best one I've found is the swapping breathe type thing

We may have accidently created a second tulpa... It started as a servitor... but then wolf though it would be cool if we gave it a body/look.... and lightly thinking about it at work here and there over a few months and... well... I guess it might have been bound to happen. But my question is, if they are already talking is it to late? ~.~" (edited)
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 5:57 AM
...we didn't really want another one, but...
Avatar
if you dont want it get rid of it
6:02 AM
now rather than later
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 6:08 AM
I would but... I believe the quote: "once you name it you start getting attached to it" Fits here...
6:09 AM
I feel stuck in between, and I just need convincing for or against it.
6:10 AM
But the other problem is it just so happens to be growing in this limbo...
Avatar
still around @Syfar System ?
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:13 AM
yep
Avatar
okay. so both of you are in agreement you don't want another tulpa, yes?
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:14 AM
Yes.... and no.
Avatar
explain
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:15 AM
We both agree we shouldn't have another because we are told, thats to much ... or somthing.
Avatar
that's nonsense, off top
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:16 AM
Winter said we shouldn't make another because we are still new to it. Its been 4 months now.
7:16 AM
But they said that like a month ago or somthing
Avatar
It's true, as a rule, people new to tulpamancy shouldn't make loads of tulpas
7:17 AM
but the reasoning behind that is mental strain
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/15/2018 7:18 AM
not completely.
Avatar
by all means
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:18 AM
Like I said to somone else, 8 hours of nothing but thinking all alone 5 times a week, might be to much thinking.
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/15/2018 7:18 AM
You should be able to spend time with them. Develop an actual relationship.
Avatar
fair enough. mental strain and time allocation
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:19 AM
Well. For those 4 months, Wolf never went away for more the an hour or two In total.
7:19 AM
So I'd say we know eachother well.
7:21 AM
But now I'm starting to worry how to tell the people who just learned, and are barely getting used to 'me being someone called wolf' sometimes, that I have another.... xD
Avatar
pro tip: don't tell other people
7:22 AM
straights are unlikely to understand as a rule
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:22 AM
I told people who would understand (all online tho)
7:22 AM
And like 90% of them did....
7:22 AM
But thats off topic sort of.
Avatar
sort of
7:23 AM
do you think you have time enough/the mental capability for another?
7:23 AM
and, actually, here's the serious question
7:23 AM
are they sentient?
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:25 AM
They talked for an hour or two today.... just the same way Wolf did when he first talked.... nothing.... then like it unlocks and they talk a whole bunch...
Avatar
alright, then refer back to the first question
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:25 AM
Time/energy
7:25 AM
I have the time
Avatar
not energy
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:26 AM
Well, mental capability.... How do you even measure it anyway
Avatar
well, for myself, there were times i thought i was doing my head in with just Em
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:27 AM
How long have you been tulpa'ing?
Avatar
roughly 8-9 months. We're bad at time
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:28 AM
I mean, Wolf is still figuring some stuff out, but I'd say he is stable.
Avatar
(So am i. that's not relevant) (edited)
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:29 AM
... mental capability.... huh...
7:29 AM
I would hope yes...
Avatar
do you think you can handle trying to sort out two different beings in your head?
7:30 AM
apparently we've already reached sentience with this second tulpa
7:30 AM
so decisions need to be made
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:30 AM
Well, as far as thought 'I.D.s' that seems to just take time.
7:30 AM
To learn.
7:31 AM
Well, I don't have an answer for you (or us) ... if I can.
7:31 AM
We aren't very decisive on the matter, sadly.
Avatar
i don't know your state of mind. i can only respond to what you give me
7:31 AM
they are sentient?
7:32 AM
full awake and aware?
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:32 AM
I want to say yes, considering they were talking and coming up with their own ideas, but its sort of day one, so im not totaly sure.
Avatar
alright. did making Wolf ever make you feel like you were going mad? how did the process make you feel?
Avatar
Syfar System 8/15/2018 7:37 AM
Making... well, Wolf didn't have a start up process as in before talking, but we figured it out after. We did have some days soaked in thought about related stuffs, but I'd say it was managed.
